The Home of Our Soul

God has blessed each one of us with a wonderful body, mind and soul.  He has created us in His image.  How do we respond?

Being Thankful

God, we thank you for making us the best we can be.  Thank you for the gift of being able to see your beautiful world with our eyes and hear the wonderful sounds of nature. Thank you for the great body you have given us and our intellectual mind so we can do your good works.

However, how many times have we criticized ourselves for not looking a certain way or not having the right size or shape of our bodies.  To be honest with you, when we are not thankful for what God has blessed us with, and we criticize the gift He has given us, we are insulting God.

God does not make mistakes. He made each one of us in a special way with a special purpose.  Let us learn to appreciate who we are and what we look like, in the most respectful way. Use positive, affirming words that convey our gratitude to God.

Treating our bodies, mind and soul  with dignity and love.

Our bodies house our soul. God lives in us. What kind of environment would we like our home to be. Clean, quiet, and peaceful. How can we do that?

We have been given perfect bodies.  However, it is up to each one of us to nurture and maintain it. We can feed it with nutritious food to perform at its best. We can nurture our minds with good, positive thoughts. We can nurture our soul by spending time with God. We have to do this on a daily basis to maintain our gift.

The example I can give you, is when we are expecting special guests to come over, we make sure our house is spotless clean, smells good, prepare some delicious food, put on music and make our house lively. We might even have fresh flowers.  If they are staying for a couple of days, we make sure they have clean sheets, clean towels etc. Well, if God lives in us, are we making sure our home is clean, fresh and smells good? Are we maintaining it every day?

It is time for us to do some spring cleaning of our home, our heart and soul where God lives.  Let us take out all the trash and clutter.  Let us take out all the negative thoughts that have accumulated over the years.  Clean and sanitize all areas.  We are now proud of our home that God resides in.
